I am wondering if anyone has read studies that show the percentages: Man made pollutions compared to natural (say errupting volcanoes, or active volcanos, and other natural forces that pollute.) I have heard that man-caused pollution pales in comparison to natural pollution, and that if all man-caused pollution was curtailed the cycles of heat and cold would continue basically unchanged.

I say we blame Bush for global warming. He is being blamed by the big O for everything else (poverty, bad economy, homelessness, crime, rain, etc., etc.). After all, he has the same initials. That has to mean something.

You environmentalists insisted that our cars and trucks be cleaned up from emitting so much pollution, and Detroit did that. Refineries got rid of the lead and sulfur in our gas and diesel. Cars, trucks and factories today, in the U.S. at least, for the most part emit no more than water vapor and CO2, a vast improvement over yesterday.

The you waffled about for awhile, complaining that Americans weren't polluting anymore, and hit upon CO2 as a "pollutant."

Enough! Show me a factory spewing out CO2 and I'll show you an active volcano spewing the same! Tax that, Al Gore.

I have just wasted 15 minutes of my life reading what the loons have to say on the issue. My personal favorite is “Global warming is overwhelmingly supported by people who know what they’re talking about…". WOW… Where to begin on this one? The loons are looking at everything from the negative impact on the economy to food shortages, all without one single substantiating fact. If the world’s greatest minds cannot agree on the "theory" (FYI… I love this one too) of global climate change, what makes you think the average Joe’s, including myself, can figure it out in a blog.

Global Warming and Climate Change is the biggest environmental issue that we face these days. the long term effects of these environmental changes to a nations economy is quite damaging. there would be a shortage in food supply as well as on water supply too.

I'm sitting here in DC in 30+ inches of snow…but that's besides the point. Any time research is done with a predetermined agenda/outcome then it is outright bad science (that includes both sides). And Joseph, to be a theory a statement has to be something you can test through observation. You don't "prove" a theory by looking for things that match up with the theory, you try to prove it wrong any way possible, and when it holds up, then and only then is it considered a good theory. Oh, and did I mention the results have to be repeatable by other scientists as well? Not just the scientists working to prove global warming so politicians have more reason to control and regulate our life. But remember, Newton's laws of gravitation were considered the most concrete theory of all time, yet it was rendered obsolete by Einstein's theory of relativity.

There's an essential problem with your logic, theories rarely have any contradicting evidence. That's what makes them theories, there is nothing that would disprove global warming, in fact the status of "theory" is the highest status something can attain scientifically without it being mathematical. The theory of global warming has been tested and all results have been found to be consistent with global warming. So no, there isn't anything that can disprove global warming, just as there isn't anything to disprove evolution or relativity. Global warming is overwhelmingly supported by people who know what they're talking about and is almost certainly occuring, and yes lots of snow is a result of it.
