The Dune Lizard is far from endangered. I recently returned from far west Texas on a surveying job, and I saw these particular lizards almost everywhere I went, in areas that were up to eighty miles apart. I even managed to snap a few photos of the little reptiles. To me, endangered means "scarce", something the Dune Lizard is certainly not. It would be sheer lunacy to drive out oil production from an area that's economy relies almost entirely on oil field jobs simply because the Fish & Wildlife Service deems an extremely common lizard as endangered. Besides, the human animal is my favorite animal, and I'd rather see our species flourish.
