Just think of all the money and trouble that would be saved if our Gov't lopped off that arm. If we are ever going to get out of debt there are some other bureau's we could do without and I'll bet the CEI (Competitive Enterprise Institute) could name them all.

As usual the EPA is proving itself to be the “bull in the china shop” arm of the environmental lobby, as sorry a bunch of “sob sisters” as ever came down the pike. A hind cast can easily show air is better now than before the era of modern fire suppression. Consider that Chicago had its air standards violated by the 100 thousand acre MN Patagami fire this summer. Imagine what it was like when 100-150 million acres of prairie burned every year (plus Patagami used to burn this amount every year). Or the CT air violations as the result of wood stove use following this year's October snowstorm power outage. We have historical documents that show the mountains were not visible from the LA area in the 1800s. It can also be shown that the amount of natural epoxides were greater during the past etc etc.

Does EPA have the right to set standards below the “natural condition”? However, all of the top soil in Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas is loess that blew across the plains from the Rockies. With no till ag, it needs to be built back up, not stopped by the EPA. When will they get to extinguishing the volcanoes?

I guess this explains dust regulation.
