Drip, Drip, Drip: Yet Another Green Energy Stimulus Recipient Hits the Skids (the third this week!)

Post image for Drip, Drip, Drip: Yet Another Green Energy Stimulus Recipient Hits the Skids (the third this week!)

Earlier this week, Stimulus beneficiary Evergreen Energy bit the dust. Then, Ener1, a manufacturer of batteries for electric vehicles and recipient of Stimulus largesse, filed for bankruptcy. And today, the Las Vegas Sun reports that Amonix, Inc., a manufacturer of solar panels that received $5.9 million from the Porkulus, will cut two-thirds of its workforce, about 200 employees, only seven months after opening a factory in Nevada.

I foresaw this spate of bad news last November. As I explained yesterday,

In a previous post, I compared renewable energy spending in the 2009 Stimulus to a green albatross burdening the President. I argued that Stimulus spending was inherently wasteful, because politics invariably corrupts government’s investment decisions. The result is taxpayers losses on bankrupt companies that existed only by the grace of political favoritism, a la Solyndra. I predicted the green stimulus would haunt the President, in the form of a slow drip public relations nightmare, as a litany of bad investments go belly-up in the run up to the 2012 elections.

Mr. President, are you still sure you want to “double down” on renewable energy giveaways?

zedaneski January 29, 2012 at 10:14 am

Each administration has had its own fleecing program…Nixon and the Fed, Carter and Chinese hegemony; Reagan and the defense industry, Bush one and the intelligence sector; Clinton and the multi-national corps, Bush two and the neocon military…Obamma’s pet is purely the advancement of left wing ideology.

Green stimulus is performing exactly how the Dems scripted it to work; pump money to cronies, flounder in less than 12months, re-distribute it to inner-cronies, and then support your local liberal in the elections. The Dems are flush with green (backs) and the Republicans are green (with envy).

gman January 29, 2012 at 10:22 am

I’ll ignore the political ramifications for now and just point out that anyone who is trying to promote Solar is fighting an uphill battle from day one. The mostly unspoken reality is that Solar although a great alternative to fossil fuels depends on the Electric company to cooperate with them in buying back extra energy.

This is like asking a big corporation to help you with the first stages of putting the corporation out of business.

So, the war is on for profits and the legislation is making the rounds so that the Solar customer already in some states and soon in many other states….will have no way to sell back the excess energy because the electric corporations are passing laws that make it legal for them to “just say no” to Solar.

Add to that the slow slow slow return on the investment…30 years to break even in some cases, maybe 8 or 10 in the best case scenario…and you have a great idea which is practically becoming near to impossible to implement.

Never mind it will eventually set a lot of people…an entire country, that is…on a path to lowering dependence on foreign oil and the electricity monopolies.

Such concerns seldom have ever entered the discussion where what we have come to call “business” is concerned. The dollar as the bottom line of acceptability of an ideal may be our longterm downfall. Might as well ask wall streeters or bankers to be less greedy. Because what Solar is really asking of Big Oil and Big Electricity is to help them become more obsolete and less profitable.

Remember, it’s not money itself that is the ‘root of all evil’….it’s the LOVE of money…to the exclusion of a long term world view of consequences of greed…that will come back to bite us. Living “short term” ideals guarantees long term failure. Of the human race, or at least our own culture.

IVEATCH January 29, 2012 at 10:27 am

Amonix is retooling the factory in North Las Vegas to start building the new 8700 series of concentrated solar power panels. They plan to rehire this summer to begin production once again.

Tocelp January 29, 2012 at 11:14 am

We gave them $5.9mm to lay off 200 people. What do I not understand here?
“Retool” is a buzz word for going out of business. How many times do you see a business closed with a sign “remodeling in process” do they actually get back in business? Next excuse will be closing to set up for the 8800 series panels!

Michigan_Joe January 29, 2012 at 12:08 pm

Has anyone ever put the amount of “alternative energy stimulus” at a figure that shows that amount versus big oil subsidies? It might be a way to judge why the oil subsidies are 100 times more costly than alternative energy stimuli. With the oil subsidies I see that money is spent for the top CEOs of those companies and not providing any jobs at all.

Steve Rings January 29, 2012 at 12:21 pm

LOL! There is no ‘green’ technology; it would have to create more energy than the total used to manufacture, deliver, install and maintain. The only reason we continue to discuss this is that politicians and the news media are so stupid, ignorant and/or evil that they will neither face nor state the truth; and scientists like their grants so they’re not going to say anything. I think it is too bad nobody wants to actually fight for their country anymore; we could literally fix this crap inside of a week. Sheer lunacy; energy supply and demand is not a zero sum game. The more we need, the better we get at finding and delivering; if you really believed it would just ruin out then you would push for its usage – that would drive your agenda quicker than anything. But you know the truth which is why the game has changed from ‘Oh, no! We’re gonna run out!’ to ‘Oh no! We are destroying the planet with greenhouse gases!’. Liberals, losers, liars – all of them.

John K Smith January 29, 2012 at 12:50 pm

It does not take 6 months to ‘retool’ for a slightly different product line. In fact, such product changeovers are routinely handled with a layoff of two weeks or less. Many manufacturers complete product changeovers over a weekend with no layoff at all. Who could be fooled by such a statement?

Mark January 29, 2012 at 10:27 am

“Green energy” companies = money laundering. That simple. The tax payer funds go to called “green energy” companies started by Obama campaign bundlers as a “public investment”, the shares go public in an IPO, George Soros and Warren Buffet( huge Obama campaign contributors) get in on the IPO via insider information from Obama’s thugocracy and make millions (documented-look it up) on the initial offering after selling the shares before they crash. The management launders money from the companies back to the Obama campaign from the taxpayer “investment”, then proceed to run the companies into the ground and bankruptcy. In the case of Solyndra, the private “investors” are first in line to get their money back from the failed company, and the taxpayer gets put next in line and get nothing. That was an inside rule changing job by the now silent Secretary of Energy to protect Obama’s private investors/campaign contributors to make sure the campaign gravy train keep rolling along. This is nothing but corruption and money laundering of the highest order, and should be investigated by a special counsel in the light of day.

StandYourGround January 29, 2012 at 11:09 am

Mark you are absolutely right on your point! This administration has devised many schemes (scams) to drain tax payers money from our US Treasury under many guises. This madness has got to stop!

Donna January 29, 2012 at 12:42 pm

This has been planned since the late 50′s!! Along with the FAKE Hawaian birth announcement!!! It wasn’t believed in 1961 anymore than its believed Now! I Remember the news then!!! All of these “bankruptcy’s are a Scheme to ruin our country. When Ann Dunham left the U.S. she was going to indonesia to have her baby because “they were so good at natural birthing”! She was interviewed before she left.

Chase January 29, 2012 at 12:18 pm

Should we expect Obama administration to investigte itself, with Eric Holder as AG? Hardly. Should Republicans win the WH this year, they will sweep the whole sordid matter under the rug, so as not to appear as “mean-spirited.” This is the historical pattern, at least back to the 1960 election, in my recollection.

Florida Jim January 29, 2012 at 10:46 am

Obama is wasteful his only comment is “some companies fail, not every opportunity succeeds” the fool doesn’t care about the debt in America it isn’t his money.
Obama’s friends who gave campaign contributions have made billions off the taxpayer dollars given by Obama to these boondoggles. Here arr a small few:
President John F. Kennedy’s nephew, Robert Kennedy, Jr., netted a $1.4 billion bailout for his company, BrightSource, through a loan guarantee issued by a former employee-turned Department of Energy official.
CH2M , Denver based, received nearly $2 Billion in stimulus funding despite a history of kickbacks, poor conduct and contaminating their own workers. While they are not in danger of suffering the same bankruptcy plight as Solyndra, CH2M has laid-off thousands of workers since receiving taxpayer stimulus. And like Solyndra, CH2M has donated thousands in campaigns finances to Democrats.
Approved for more than $6.5 billion in federal assistance. Five have filed for bankruptcy: The junk bond-rated Beacon, Evergreen Solar, SpectraWatt, AES’ subsidiary Eastern Energy and Solyndra.

There are dozens of others and more joining the group weekly as Obama excplains how well he is doing.

Jeff in AZ January 29, 2012 at 1:34 pm

Florida Jim, You are too kind to Barry. It is all about money and paying off his friends. Deliberate pilfering of our wallet. Not an accident. Not a bone head act. He is a theif.

Paul January 29, 2012 at 5:17 pm

Florida Jim:

I probably agree with you politically, but it’s practically impossible to understand a lot of what what you write. Have the respect for others to use proper punctuation and spelling. If what you have to say is worth writing, it is worth writing correctly.

robincalif January 29, 2012 at 9:33 pm

Paul, if you can’t understand the message because of punctuation then you won’t recieve the message no matter how well it is presented.

annais January 30, 2012 at 5:07 am

THANK YOU! isn’t it amazing? he obviously doesn’t like the post because i could understand it just fine, plus, who cares about the punctuation, who’s here to be tested an in school!..”Respect for others”! what a turd! it’s called Stream of consciousness”! as having been popularized by James Joyce, is obviously useful in these forum to save time! I guess Paul could never read James Joyce..i have one for you Paul, which doesn’t need punctuation nor respect: OBAMA SUCKS!

John Kelly January 29, 2012 at 11:12 pm

Sorry Paul, but I did not have any trouble understanding the message. Did you go to a Catholic High School or something?

Ed G. Mann January 30, 2012 at 6:38 am

Mr. Kelly, if one attends a Catholic school, one certainly can spell, properly use grammar and ACTUALLY read for content.

Bill January 30, 2012 at 7:58 am

I did not see anyone using religion as an arguement. It is a bigoted comment.

John B. January 30, 2012 at 5:33 am

Paul, did you check your own writing? Two ‘whats’? For the record I had no problem understanding ‘Florida Jim.’ And if the best you can do is to criticize a minor error or two, and have nothing useful to add to the story, then please have respect for others and spare us the revelation of your amazing command of proper grammar.

LAstud January 29, 2012 at 6:08 pm

So it’s okay when Obama pisses away our money on “some companies fail, not every opportunity succeeds” , but when Mitt Romney does it with his own money its vulture capitalism. Makes a lot of sense!!

J January 30, 2012 at 6:49 am

You said it yourself, it’s Mitt’s money not the taxpayers LAdud. Just another example, we’ve already seen this with the Cornhuster Kickback and all the exemptions to the health care bill, wait until we see the real cost and the cronysim when that is completely implemented. The politians love to spend other people’s money because they have to appear to be doing something even if it is dragging the entire country to hell.

sbenard January 29, 2012 at 8:50 pm

I had no difficulty reading or understanding this post. I have a tremor in my hands that somehow occasionally adds a letter or two here and there, but it didn’t require use of my Master of Science degree to understand this post. Perhaps the problem wasn’t the poster, but the reader!

donttreadonme January 29, 2012 at 10:49 am

Love the insight on this blog. Hope everyone takes the time to vote come reckoning time.

D January 29, 2012 at 10:49 am

Here’s what’s going on folks! Obama is money laundering through the guise of
Stimulus for these companies. Money to pad his reelection. And when out of office, money slushed back into his families’ personal account via speaking fees. It’s easy to figure. Make sure there is enough money to spread back to him. Wait till you see what e gets in speaking fees!! Look at Clintons!!

JOND January 29, 2012 at 8:10 pm

Look what he has done in 3 years. If Obama is elected for another term I think he could double the deficit the way he is allowed to spend our money.
He must not be able to do this,It scares me to think people actually beleive he is doing a great job, when in fact he is going down faster than a bucket of chicken @ Oprah’s.I hope Romney and Newt ease up on their attacks on each other or we just might see Obama in our house for another term.THAT IS VERY SCARY!

george January 30, 2012 at 12:55 am

Give the guy a break already. Teleprompter maintenance costs bucks.

Elmer Fudd January 29, 2012 at 10:51 am

Retooling? Those that believe that propaganda are tools! How poorly managed can you be to layoff 2/3 your workforce so you can retool for the “8700″? They can only manufacture one line of products? Care to buy the Brooklyn Bridge? Cheap?

redhawk January 29, 2012 at 12:08 pm

I believe that Obama’s new invented Phrase for ” re-tooling” is I send you more tax payers money to waste IF you Bundle more money for me .. as Harry Reid for Contacts….

Elmer Fudd January 29, 2012 at 1:02 pm

Government needs to get out of business . . . . period. Picking winners & losers breeds waste and corruption.

In other words. . . Amen brother.

disgusted January 30, 2012 at 12:18 am

0bama does not pick winners & losers. 0bama only picks losers. ‘Takes one to know one’, we used to say in elementary school. What a man child.

k4liberty January 29, 2012 at 10:19 pm

Hey Redhawk,

It’s not “re-tooling” it’s re-fooling that is the American people all over again. I guess this is part of that redistribution of the wealth we keep hearing about, basically Robin hood in reverse! “to rob from the many to give to the few”, or maybe
“From each according to his inability to stop this raping, to each according to his need to pillage and plunder!” Wake up and smell the fascism!

John Steele January 29, 2012 at 10:54 am

I can;t stop laughing. 3 Sham green companies in one week bite the dust and there goes, how many 100′s of billions of our tax dollars that out Kenyan born President has thrown at the green movement to risky non-exsistant, unworkable technology. My favorite is Ener1 which makes the batteries for the expensive golf carts. I wonder what the Air Resource Board in Kalifornia is going to do after it mandated this week that 15% of Cars in Kalifornia must be electric in 8 years

slickzip January 29, 2012 at 2:57 pm

ODUMBA is in bed with all these crooks ,,,,,,

dewey james January 29, 2012 at 3:18 pm

I think we can write off the whole state of California, they have lost there minds, long ago. Look who they vote into office. We should sell the whole to China . Oh I forgot we already have.

dewey james January 29, 2012 at 3:23 pm

I have given up on Kalifornia long ago. They have lost there minds and morals.

James Smythe January 29, 2012 at 3:31 pm

We won’t be laughing when our tax dollars bail out the lunatics in Kalifornia. If a taxpayer revolt hasn’t started by then, this might do it.

george January 30, 2012 at 12:59 am

@James Smythe: I live in Kalifornia, and I’m rooting for that revolt big-time.

StandYourGround January 29, 2012 at 11:12 am

I agree with Mark! This administration has come up with many schemes to bleed funds from OUR Treasury. They are such a bunch of Chicago scum! The people of Chicago should be ashamed of the politicians they allow to stay in power and what they have given to the rest of us!

Brooke January 29, 2012 at 11:29 am

where in the constitution does it authorize the President to speculate in private sector “start ups” on behalf of the American people. I am a financial advisor w/ 30 years experience and all of the licensing and eduacation requirements that go along w/ it. Obama w/ ZERO expertise has increased our national debt 5 trillion in 3 years! He is the most unqualified individual in any room he enters. Yet he lectures his Betters daily on topics he knows NOTHING about. What a disaster he has been for our country.

Matthew W January 29, 2012 at 2:12 pm

Or buy two auto producing companies.
Can’t believe that really has happened.
Oh, and he CLOSED car dealerships !!! Another great extra Constitutional move !!

Bob Billings January 29, 2012 at 2:55 pm

Actually Brooke, he is the most qualified in the room for deconstructing a Republic and “retooling” it to a Socialist nation.

Koblog January 29, 2012 at 11:33 am

Speaking of money laundering slush funds that sluice future public taxpayer debt to phony green scams for political enrichment, I find it most interesting that the California Democrat Party “invested” in Solyndra and somehow got its money back–no doubt with healthy gain–when the $500,000,000 government “loan” mysteriously evaporated.

MoeBellini January 29, 2012 at 11:40 am

WERE IS THE MONEY. When you look at the millions of dollars given to these companies and look at when they received this money there’s no way the spent it on labor, parts or R&D. Where’s the rest of the money. You know where, its in Obama’s supporters pockets. All taxpayer money taken from the real taxpayers, the middle class and yes the millionaires. All of our money going to pay off Obama’s buddies. Obama does a good job when its not his money, passing it around to his friends and then defending HIS mistakes. The man is a total fraud and a thief.

JTWallace January 29, 2012 at 11:44 am

Yeah. Another Green Energy Stimulus bites the dust. Only we’re getting a boat load of Hope and Change for the better! Billions of Hope and Change! So, how’s it working out for you?

maxf January 29, 2012 at 11:46 am

It’s Bush’s fault

Brooke January 29, 2012 at 12:33 pm

At what point in time during Obama’s term will he be responsible for his policies? He came into office telling us all this was the worst recession since the great depression. He then promised to cut the deficit in half then quadrupled it. He promised unemployment would drop to under 7% at this point in his term if we let him have his “stimulus bill.” He has failed by every measure. We hired the guy to fix our problems but because of his policies, this recession has continued for 3 long years with no blue skies on the horrizon. By every metric he’s been a dismal failure. Shows what happens when we don’t vet our candidates for President.

Elmer Fudd January 29, 2012 at 2:32 pm

Wonder if I can blame Bush for my GPA . . . . from 15 years ago? Oh wait . . . I take responsibility for my actions.

Steve January 30, 2012 at 7:52 am

So what your admitting is, the “smartest” president is not intelegent enough to fix what the “bumbest” president broke?? :)

Larry Croft January 29, 2012 at 12:08 pm

The green day will come.

My wife and I use wind and solar for household needs at our remote Apache county home in Arizona, with help from a propane generator when wind is calm and clouds hide the sun.

We also use propane for heating, cooking and heating the water.

After four years we have had zero costs but expect about $3200 of expense at today’s prices for battery replacement. We have been told our 16 batteries will last from seven to ten years. Too, we know there will be additional cost for equipment repair but how much and when we don’t know.

However, it is more expensive during the first twenty years or so than living on the grid when one considers the installation cost.

It is the perfect power delivery method for living in remote areas off the electrical grid.

Matthew W January 29, 2012 at 2:08 pm

“It is the perfect power delivery method for living in remote areas off the electrical grid.”

Yippy skip for you !!

But that type of “Green” power won’t run a city or power industry.

Jiml January 29, 2012 at 3:32 pm

So, tell me, how do you get all that propane for free? I have to pay over $3 per gallon where I live. Wood heating is much cheaper.

lee January 29, 2012 at 4:10 pm

Dear LC: Good job in making living off the grid a reality. I don’t think however that your ingenuity is what anyone is against. But rather it’s the government taking public funds and and pouring it into energy policy when the numbers just don’t add up (right now). Maybe in 20 or so years it will. But right now the payback on simple conversion stuff is over 30 years or residential and over 100 years on commercial.

John Kelly January 29, 2012 at 11:20 pm

You are not refining steel, aluminum, or titanium. You are not powering lights in a city. You are not heating a city hall, a court house, government buildings. You are not building roads, schools, hospitals, nor are you powering them. You live in AZ, try heating a house in Minnesota during February. Green will never get here. I too could live off the grid if I wanted. Solar, wind, tidal, methane generation, etc etc etc. It means nothing so far as a highly industrial civilization goes. Can you run a farm with wind or solar. Them John Deeres take one hell of a lot of power. Forget the Amish nonsense, the are barely more than subsistence farmers. Individuals can live off the grid; a country cannot.

Steve T January 29, 2012 at 12:52 pm

Wow, this site is so biased, its a joke! No wonder there is a Dem as President

dewey james January 29, 2012 at 3:09 pm

Hello Mr. Steve T.
If you think this site is biased, go take a look at the leftwing liberal blog sites. They have stuck there heads in the Hot sands of global warming so far that they won’t ever look around and see that the earth has actually cooled for the past 15 years.
They have igonored the Climategate email scams. We have a lot of very foolish people being led around by the nose by golddigging so called science majors. The make big money for saying what solar and wind companys pay them to say. The truth is not a problem for them it is making lots of money that they will sell there souls for.

Tom Richards January 29, 2012 at 9:40 pm

I am not for the wasteful spending now being doled out to finance these companies but the problem is we have put the cart before the horse. You can make all of these products by the bunches but if you do not have the companies and sales forces to sell them, its not going to happen and as you see they go under. Training on that end has to take place a great deal on how to market and sell the product to generate orders. I have been in the energy window business for years and years and we had a dedicated system to selling our products. With restrictions to reach out and get leads today in place (telemarketing, canvassing, etc) we just don’t have the leads to give our sales force. No leads, no sales. These newer companies have to learn how to sell this stuff before they can make it.

Guest of a Guest January 29, 2012 at 11:48 pm

Um, no. It’s that the products being touted are economically non-viable to produce. Even with stimulus. And anyone with a brain realizes that the extra money spent on a Prius will not be recoverable within the car’s expected useful life.

Not to mention the environmentally unsafe battery components themselves.

People will think with their wallets, “statement” buyers excepted. Buying, and therefore producing, these products now simply does not make sense.

dewey james January 29, 2012 at 3:12 pm

I notice that the left wing dems not say climate change instead of global warming, why do you think they are doing that?

dewey james January 29, 2012 at 3:13 pm

correction it should be [ now say]

george January 30, 2012 at 1:07 am

Why do you think they use the term “climate change”? That way, it doesn’t matter if the climate warms or cools over any given stretch of time. Either way, it’s the fault of capitalism, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and George Bush.

In other words, normal changes in weather patterns don’t exist. Any climate fluctuations are caused by wasteful, stupid sheeple who need to have their lives regimented by wise government nannies.

John Kelly January 29, 2012 at 11:25 pm

Sorry Steve we cannot share your dreams. We are more real. That green energy is a sham run by mindless idiots. Not going to happen in your lifetime. Them Chevy Volts are heavily subsidized and are nothing but junk. That solar future you were promised is still way in the future. btw: no more global warming, it has once again changed to global cooling.
Unlike most commentators here I do not believe Obama stole money, I think he was bought. Crony capitalism at its absolute worst. Solyndra, $500 million of stupid. No matter what you want to believe the facts are that individuals can live on solar and wind, an industrialized country cannot.

y. kiyay January 29, 2012 at 12:52 pm

Public relations nightmare? The public would have to know about it. These stories, if they appear at all in the Lame Stream mainstream, will get buried six ways from Sunday.

supersniffy January 29, 2012 at 12:54 pm

What a pity. Obama is running out of places to “consult” for after he leaves office.

BillyBob117 January 29, 2012 at 12:54 pm

What is sad, there are still those who want the non NBC/hater of America to be re-elected. Why did the true dems let the left wing liberals hijack their party? I still say the House should begin impeachment hearings.

GarandFan January 29, 2012 at 1:16 pm

Hey! Those companies get ‘stimulus’ money because the company backers are also Obama campaign bundlers. “As ye sow, so shall ye reap”. And Barry plans on doing a lot of “reaping”.

Charles S. Opalek, PE January 29, 2012 at 1:23 pm

Alternative energies in general are unsustainable with Energy Returned On Energy Invested (EROEI) ratios of less than 1.

Solar pv has an EROEI of 0.48 ( Even if the panels cost nothing, the EROEI for the balance of the project is still less than 1.) Wind power has an EROEI of no more than 0.29. And electric cars? They only return a portion of the electricity you load into them that was generated mostly from coal; everything else is a loss.

Wake up America! Alternative engeries are nothing but a drain on the taxpayer and consume more energy than they can ever return.

And all this crap because of the scam of manmade globel warming? Permit me to put a stake through the heart of global warming with one indisputable fact: ice core data shows CO2 increases happen about 800 years AFTER the temperature increases. CO2 is not a driv-er of climate change; it is a driv-ee.

Chris January 29, 2012 at 5:55 pm

Nice to see some solid science in the argument for a change!

WCarter January 29, 2012 at 1:27 pm

China allegedly subsidized their solar panel industry to the tune of about $23B to allow their solar panel producers to under cut American producers in the US market.
A “dumping” complaint has been lodged by several US solar producers with the US governmement and it is under investigation.

No, they don’t as long as they get their check. We are entering the Greece saga, we have no collective cures between both parties. Keep kicking the ball. Maybe we are the lost generation. I am sitting in my home just waiting for the collapse, as we watch higher energy costs move on. Liar, liar volt on fire. Lets all follow warren buffet the big rich guy.
Does he really think raising the taxes on the rich will work, this will come with a cost.
We have 8,000 people in this country earning 10 million a year. Hey warren what if we took all of these 8,000 people with all of there assets it still would not punch a hole in our debt. I know lets build a fence around bridges, and have the taxpayers pay 7 million for each.
But don’t build a fence in the water because a boat would never get near it. Just to name how wasteful this government can be in the name of safety—someone always gets paid.
Do I believe this government is watching over me or just making another friend or company rich.

We have destroyed & Polluted the Earth for Oil, Gas & Nuclear Power, most wars for it also, all because they don’t want to release Nokolia Tesla Free Electro-Magnetic Technology that was stolen after his death. Why ? because of the Greed of the Rothschild, J.P. Morgan Chase & Rockefellow Tribes that wanted to keep the masses on the grids. Today our Government has Tesla’s knowledge & use it for destructive purposes (HAARP) & refuse to allow to release this technology for the good of mankind & kindness to our Enviroment.
Imagine an 8 cubit foot inexpensive unit that you buy once to heat, light & cool your home with NO Pollution, endless energy & independence from the Man.
This technology is universal power that runs the universe, magnetic power, it is God’s energy, I guess we will have to wait till the wicked are no more, praying they all go down in their bunkers underground, so they will all be buried alive in their tombs.

Fortunately, stonehill, that aluminum foil under your hat reflects back into your body the Purity of Essence, so you don’t need any oil, gas or nuclear. Just sayin’…

cactus02 January 29, 2012 at 7:07 pm

stonehillady, I shure hope your tinfoil hat dosn’t fall off.No such devices exist or they would have been pantented and exploited to make the patentee richer than Gates.

Fear not ODUMBA will keep spending “OUR” money until the well runs dry and then he will start selling our national parks to China ,,,,,,

sb36695 January 29, 2012 at 3:01 pm

Keep em coming! Need more slush funds! Why have a budget when you have access to other people’s money?

Innocent Bystander January 29, 2012 at 3:14 pm

The hard left envirmentalists do not care what the cost is to the us, they just want their green energy program to work. Obama does not care how many companies take our money and then go under, he is so set to get green energy off the ground that 1 out of 100 could make it and it would be OK with him. Unfortunately we are going to pay for the cost of the experiments. I have one question though, if the left wants us to eliminate the use of fossil fuels in the U.S. what do we run jets with, wind power?

Patrick Kelley January 29, 2012 at 3:19 pm

This really pisses me off. My father started a battery company some years ago. True green technology, backed by some big names he was doing very well, the battery was above and beyond expectations, and could solve much of the total power supply by making the grid more efficient.

Then enter the Bama. He gave 3Billion dollars to all of my fathers competitors, because they had “new” technology and my fathers was about making exsisting technology better. Needless to say, when you give all your competitors huge amounts of money the guys that were doing good in the free market simply can’t compete.

Obama did more then give funds away to companies, he gave the money to only a select few, put hardworking americans out of business as a result, and now they turn tail and run.

Thanks again Obama, for not only ruining america, but for ruining many of the entrepreneurs and great minds of human ingenuity in america today. You set back green technology 20 years, thanks for all the “help”

Idiot. He’s just an idiot.

John Kelly January 29, 2012 at 11:27 pm

Yea, I believe that. The government distorted the marketplace. Maybe in some instances government funding might be a good idea, but when it is done for political propaganda that is very unlikely.

Tim Lucas January 30, 2012 at 6:00 am

I hate to hear that. Never knew or looked at it that away but I know you are right.
The most feared words are “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”. Ronald Reagan. People have two choices and Newt isn’t making it easy with his moon project. Nitt will continue obamacare and track well left of center. They have piled on Newt and republicans are the surprize this year. They are not republicans any longer but progressives. This country is going to ship in a hurry. We as a people have lost alot more than your dad’s business since obama. Many have taken their own lives after losing the family farm. Those have been the stories that has sickened me the most. I don’t know where we are going but it will not be good.

VegasBC January 29, 2012 at 3:31 pm

So many people in this blog have conveyed their disgust for POTUS being an unqualified thief. This is so true, and I am just as disgusted and in agreement with all of you. But this legalized corruption at the pinnacle of power is just so typical here in America. We talk of the corruption in countries like Mexico, Colombia & Russia, yet we turn a blind eye to the corruption in our own country. Ours is a government “of the people, by the people”. This is a reflection on us when our society elected Obama back during the 2008 election cycle although he was obvious to so many to be a corrupt Chicago politician. Why? Why was he elected anyway? Our society needs to find solutions to this lest we go the way of the Roman Empire.

John Kelly January 29, 2012 at 11:30 pm

I have not turned by eye away. I recognize the political crony capitalism that is destroying America. I oppose it at every opportunity. Those “shovel ready” jobs never existed. The stimulus merely bailed out the rich who made really bad bets. The green revolution is political propaganda.
Lets keep the heat on the crooks and get them out off office.

Larry January 29, 2012 at 3:49 pm

You guys are just jealous, join his team and get stimulized.

David Christensen January 29, 2012 at 4:18 pm

Again I am shocked, I tell you shocked, that there is prostitution going on in the White House.

Glenn Koons, LB, Ca. January 29, 2012 at 4:56 pm

Odd that today, was an article that said, GW ended 15 years ago and people were expecting some type of ice age. This GW baloney is a socialist attempt to equalize the productive nations with the non=producers. S0rt of how Obama looks at America and punishes our free enterprise system via moratoriums on legal entities like oil, shale, gas, coal and nuclear energy production. Now over 11 of these green Solyndra type scams have failed and Bama doubles down and then inanely says, the US
Navy will become our Green Powerhouse. Yikes. Please oust this naif in the WH and as many leftist progressive Dems as possible or we are going to resemble Albania.

pammie January 29, 2012 at 5:06 pm

I believe the liberals have created companies just to steal the dollars they take from people who work. They say bankrupt but the money does not disappear, its in someones pocket. Solar panels send scorching heat to the ground. I heard it has melted a few things! Who made the bucks passing these rip-off laws? WTH

emnusa January 29, 2012 at 5:26 pm

President Obama gets a generous campaign donation from these companies when he arranges a loan. I believe this to be outright theft, as he knows they are likely to not pay back the loan. We need a congressional hearing.

Duckandcover January 29, 2012 at 6:21 pm

Mr. President, Mr. President!

I have a real good green energy corporation idea.

Give me $10,000,000 (or more) and I’ll try to hook up every stationary bike, stair cliimber, and other physical fitness machinery to a generator which will send the electricity to Washington, D.C. to keep our printing presses going so they can continue to print an enless supply of money!!!

It’s win, win!!!

Slayer88 January 29, 2012 at 6:33 pm

Obama doesn’t care about this, come on now. The media doesn’t report or investigate any of it and the money comes back to him in campaign contributions. Same with Corzine and MF Global. What happened to that money or the story behind it. The government confiscated that money. Does anybody reading this really believe it’s a “green albatross” around Obama’s neck?

Guest of a Guest January 29, 2012 at 11:59 pm

Wow, are you ignorant. What do you mean “the government confiscated all that money?”. MF Global encountered a “liquidity crunch” that rendered it unable to continue doing business. The investors will get the money from the investments back, less the bankruptcy vulture fees (not insubstantial, but in this case not devastating). MF will be found to have one nothing illegal, populist torch-waving aside.

robert m January 29, 2012 at 7:27 pm

A scam is a scam. A liar is a liar. Our AG lied about knowing a border patrol agent was killed with his gun transfer. He did it and is not punished for it. Scooter Libby was imprisoned for lying about a incident that was not a crime nor was there loss of life.
Besides Obama, who are these people that obtain public tax money and then make it disappear? names please, not company names.
Justice for all please.

Matthew January 29, 2012 at 8:27 pm

I sit and watch buisness after buisness that recieved Obama money! and left wing nutbags still cry out that the rich have to pay up! the administration gives out millons of dollars in there insain redistribution that never worked in the past and is not working now.and they don,t speak a word about there supreme leader throwing our money down an endless pit.You on the left its passed time for you to go home,Mother Russia has plenty of room for you to go and f%#k up whats left of that country.Go all of you go ! don,t leave any of your ilk behind either.

Eugene Boyanton January 29, 2012 at 8:45 pm

The sad problem with Obama is he might get re-elected. I am not sure the country can survive four more years with this anti-American at the helm!

Al January 29, 2012 at 9:13 pm

Thank me, al gore, for lying to you all and creating this false reality of global warming. Because of my lies I have been able to manipulate the good people in this nation as well as the government to spend/WASTE a ton of your hard earned dollars to these companies that give it back to politicians that support my liberal beliefs.

Haha I fooled you fools.

P.s. has anyone ever look into the political donations from the companies or there employees? I bet it’s pretty obsurd!

john January 29, 2012 at 9:48 pm

They are systematically stealing our money to use against us at a later date in their quest to destroy America. Wake up Sheeple!!!

Dave January 29, 2012 at 10:13 pm

to all the nit-wit GW cool-aid drinkers out there who mindlessly chant that” the science is settled on MMGW” I have this say,

Pluto was a planet for over a hundred freakin years, remember that
“settled science”

Linnie January 29, 2012 at 11:00 pm

Don’t worry, Illinois will come to Obama’s Green Energy rescue. What ever fails, the Illinois Tax Payer will be required to pick up the tab to continue all the Marxist fraud.

Fred P. January 29, 2012 at 11:15 pm

FLUSH OUT ALL OF THE POLICITIANS! It’s time to start over – completely!

Sharyn January 29, 2012 at 11:58 pm

I get the idea that most people posting here feel the market should dictate which companies win and which lose. If that is the case then we should end all subsidies for agriculture and let the market dictate the price of our food. End all subsidies, tax breaks and military protection of supply routes for fossil fuels and let the market dictate the price. End all grants and research development money for pharmaceutical companies. So taxpayer funded subsidies for fossil fuels, agriculture and pharmaceuticals – companies that make obscene profits are OK, but trying to wean us off of toxic, polluting climate changing oil, gas and coal is not. Green technology is a fledgling industry with great potential and needs government backing to keep us competitive with China. The future of America depends on our ability to transform our economy with innovation in energy.
