I think forbidding construction of new coal power plants is a really good idea. Seal levels keep going up, more natural lakes are drying up and desert areas like Kern county suffer frequent heat waves because of coal power plants. So why be dependent on coal generated energy when we can use alternatives like solar power or hydroelectric power?

The EPA is our bull in a china shop. It has a long list of stupid things it has banned. I could write a book about their incompetence. Their endorsement of man caused global warming (AGW) is their latest and probably their most expensive boondoggle. This idiocy has no legitimate scientific support and over 30,000 US scientists will back me up on this (2008 "Petition Project"). They have classified carbon dioxide (CO2) in our air as pollution, How can you call a vital gas in our air pollution when it is as important for the wellfare of our plant life as oxygen is for animal life? This Bureau has long since discredited itself and needs defundibng.

Come on get over it. No matter what kind of spin you put on this most of the American public supports the EPA's action on this. You had your chance with cap and trade and blew it forcing the EPA to get involved. We all know that since Citizens vs United came into play that every politician now has to be concerned about pissing off big coal and oil and possibly lose their so called free speach dollars. Thank God the EPA exists or it would be much worse for our environemnt. Bottim line is congress will never again side with the EPA until Citizens vs United is done away with. So much for our democracy.
