Global Warming Well Down List of Issues, Even for Democrats
Iain Murray, CEI
November 27, 2007It is often suggested that global warming and/or the environment is becoming more important in deciding how Americans vote. The latest poll figures, from the Washington Post and ABC News, suggest that for Democrats in the crucial state of Iowa, that is far from the case.
In a state where ethanol and energy are important issues, too few people to register mentioned global warming as the most important issue in determining their choice of candidate. Taking the top two issues together, 4 percent said the Environment, 3 percent said Energy/Ethanol and 2 percent global warming. There may be some overlap between these groups, so it is impossible to add these up even to 9 percent.
And that’s the Democrats. Now admittedly, this is from a Midwest state but the figures for environmentally “aware” New Hampshire aren’t much different. In the latest CNN poll there, just 4 percent of Democrats make it their #1 issue, with 3 percent their #2 (an additional 5 percent named it their #3 issue, something that wasn’t asked in the Iowa poll).
In South Carolina, a Winthrop University poll in October found just 0.8 percent of Democrats mentioning the Environment as their most important issue - lower (though meaninglessly so) than the 1 percent of Republicans!

Has anyone else noticed the trees?
Has anyone else noticed this?!?!?!
First let me state that I believe in global warming!! What I don't believe is that it is a major catastrophy and that it is cyclical. That there is very little man can do to impact the greenhouse gasses that the earth creates on its own without the assistance of man. The increase in volcanic activity both on land and suboceanic procudes vast amounts. The earth is in a phase of polar shift whereby the north and south poles at some point in the distant future will flip, as it has so many time in eons past. There are spots on unusual magnetic activity occuring all over the planet. As a result of this pending shift, the suns rays are penetrating more to heat the earth. Then there is solar activity itself. See: http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2007/2006GL028764.shtml
I live in the north east, New Jersey specifically.
I have noticed that global warming has caused extended summer like weather, delaying the biological process of trees turning colors and losing their leaves. I still as of at least the middle of November, have seen trees that are STILL green. A month earlier we would have been crackling through the dried up leaves as we go Trick-or-treating! If my knowledge of botanics is correct, as long as the leaves are green, Mother Natures plants are still converting CO2 into O2! Am I wrong???
I firmly believe that the earth is in a natural warming cycle. Perhaps Mother Natures knows for herself that the levels of O2 to CO2 is shifting and on her own is taking action to adjust the balance. We have enjoyed as much as an entire month of trees doing their conversion act. (Can some scientist guestimate what voulme of CO2 has been converted in this extended season?)
Man can never come anywhere near what Mother Nature can do to heel her ailing child. Mom knows best!!!
Don't get me started on the polar ice caps melting and drowning us all. Look at the magnitude of ocean to ice cap ratio. I find it difficult to believe that if ALL the ice melted (I doubt that it all ever will) that we would experieced any more than lowland costal flooding. Gore is an IDIOT!!!!

I believe in what you are saying, i've been looning at size and volume in the polar regions, and there won't be much of a water level increase if the caps do melt, because the northern cap is ice on water, has a heavyer mass and will actually lower the water levels if it all melts because water expands when it turns into ice, i might be wrong, if i make the mistake im just human.. but also the southern cap is on land so when it melts it will about balance out the northern cap... and al gore is a retard, and any one who calls him onerable should die -.-'

you spelt honorable wrong dumbass
It is to late
Sorry for being harsh but, It is too late.
Look around, the temperature fluctuations, earth quakes, hurricanes bla bla bla is accelerating. We will not be able to turn things around. If you take how long it took us to get in the situation we are in now. There are no quick fixes and the only other way is to get people to live without there everyday necessities like cars, planes, train and go back to the primitive way of doing things. Fortunately money means allot more to the human race than life. Humans are to arrogant and that will be our downfall.
My suggestion is to start praying, try to live right and prepare for a very uncomfortable time ahead.
i completly agree with you
i completly agree with you it will be hard but we have no chioice unless every pulls together not going to happen is it
this is out ragous some one
this is out ragous some one should be doing something to make every one see that they are basicly killing evey one and them selfs.

Ed,
There are trees that stay green during the fall/winter time. :] We also contribute to CO2 more than we think. We emit CO2 more than plants can take in which messes up the natural balance that mother nature has created, so it defeats the whole purpose of a "balanced cycle". Also, the more we humans cut down our forests the more CO2 and there goes our outer layer >:\.
The only reason gov't isn't doing anything about global warming is, because without gas companies (which is what makes us powerful & where most of our gov't money comes from) we get no money + they are lazy. Haha.
