"Scientists' Recent Comments on Global Warming and Hurricanes" examines recent claims that hurricanes are becoming dramatically worse, and that global warming is influencing the numbers, frequency and intensity of recent hurricanes in the busy 2004-2005 seasons. One focus is recent controversy over papers by Webster and Curry (Science, 2005) and by Kerry Emanuel (Nature, 2005), claiming a positive connection.
"This paper is a bit different," says Ferguson, "because it presents the discussion directly from the participating scientists via popular press commentaries and unedited internet blogs. It makes for some highly interesting reading." The paper demonstrates how disputes over the science of the hot topics of global warming and hurricanes are spilling over into the public arena.

No one remembers???
I remember back in the 70s all the scientists and environmentalists were preaching that we were headed towards another ice age. What happened to all that data? Where did all those people go? I guess you can't make any money on the Earth cooling off. You can sure make alot on it heating up! I believe it may be warming slightly but has anyone talked about the so called "Ring of Fire" in the Pacific Ocean? It streaches from Indonesia all the way to southern California. It has become much more active in the last few years and in causing a heating of the ocean water, which in turn also heats the atmosphere, melts polar ice and so on. Volcanologists said that when the volcano in the Phillipines erupted, it spewed out 15,000 times more "Greenhouse Gases" than man could ever create. This Earth is a living organism and it knows how to survive. It can handle anything we throw at it. Remember, trees are a renewable resource but the manufacture of plastic is not. There are no plastic trees or rocks. It's made from petroleum products which as we all know comes from oil. Next time you turn your plastic computer on, think about the environmental damage you have created by buuying it! Whats the answer? Hunter-Gatherers? Do you want to give up your air conditioner and your micro-wave? How about all your electronics and your DVDs and CDs? I don't think so.
