Representatives Henry Waxman (D-California) and Edward Markey (D-Massachusetts) today unveiled the Clean Energy and Security Act, a massive bill that incorporates virtually every lame-brained global warming policy ever considered by Congress (and then some).

Great read here on the fallacy of global warming computer modeling:

Climate change is not a hoax but a reality. The impact is visible on rapidly melting glaciers and receding ice shelves, islands that were earlier habitable now engulfed by the ocean leaving residents to fight the tide changing quickly against them. The existing generation has the technological know-how and the willingness to make a difference so that we can show the future generation how beautiful there home is rather then just talking about how beautiful it used to be. You may want to check the information online to believe that climate change is here to stay unless we are able to take some drastic measures to prevent it.

There seems to be a disconnect with reality: it will "save consumers hundreds of billions of dollars in energy costs" and yet it's based on "tradable federal permits, called “allowances,” for each ton of pollution emitted into the atmosphere … [to achieve emissions] 83% below 2005 levels in 2050"

Even Obama says a cap and trade program will greatly increase energy costs. See: http://www.appinsys.com/GlobalWarming/ObamasGover

Why is it that modern ‘liberals’ tend to push for government power to be used to limit, restrict, and reduce individual liberty? I mean by that, to reduce individual liberty beyond the point where individual activity is not interfering with another’s individual liberty.

Al Gore and the global warming mob are lobbying for government coercion to be used in limiting the free choices of essentially all human beings in existence on the earth today and in the future. Their footing is based upon consensus rather than truth.

Why do they not limit their own activities to the use of persuasion of the global population to their ideas rather than resorting to government coercion to force their agenda upon the rest of the world?

Why do they not lead by example and recycle their automobiles, jet planes, and computers? Why do they not sell their urban homes, move to the country, become vegans, grow their own vegetables, and renounce all energy they consume that would be produced from carbon-based fuels? Why do they not capture the exhaled CO2 and flatulent that they themselves produce as a result of their being alive? We objectivist, libertarian, conservative, humans would not interfere with them if they made those choices out of their own free will. We would not interfere with their individual liberty to live their own lives as they see fit. Why must liberals not allow the rest of us to live our lives as we see fit? Don’t worry, be happy. Peace and love.

Live and let live.

Why is the idea of creating an government mandated, artificial market for carbon credits under cap and trade?

There is no nutritional value in CO2 ration coupons.
