The World Wildlife Fund, in a press release on May 15, 2007:

Sustainable energy and technology can curb climate change and meet projected growth in demand for energy but only if key decisions are made within the next five years, according to a new WWF report. Climate Solutions: WWF’s vision for 2050 concludes that sustainable technologies can meet global projected energy demand while avoiding the most dangerous impacts of climate change….

“This report says that we can breathe a sigh of relief: it’s not too late to save ourselves and our children from the worst ravages of climate change while still meeting the demand for energy,” said Richard Mott, Vice President for International Policy at World Wildlife Fund.  “But the report also warns that this opportunity is fleeting.  Any delay and our choices become both more difficult and much more expensive.”

Today in Popular Science:

It’s no secret that the world is warming, but a new report published by the World Wildlife Fund suggests we may not have as much time to mull solutions as we think. If the world doesn’t commit to green technologies by 2014, the report says, runaway global warming and economic meltdown are all but unstoppable.

A two-year reprieve — whew! But I thought we needed to act now?

"It’s no secret that the world is warming" – Sorry, I missed the non-secret. But 2 more years? Wow, this is the last time…I'm selling my burial plot and buying a hearse. That way I won't be fooled, again.

I think we have an AGW catastrophe for every year? Once again, the "Believers" can't possibly be wrong as with "climate change" – or is it they can't ever be right? Both, yet none. Temps, GHG's, etc going up/down, ice growing/melting, modelers continually correcting their models….I can't take any more uncertainty….. and now I can't even believe that I will die from AGW anytime soon!

Holy fraud! The "One Worlders" must conjure another more manageable panic inducing scheme…I know! How about Health Care! Wow, it's late.

OK so if we do warm a little more, say 2deg.C we will get run away global warming. NO WE WILL NOT! During the Medieval warm Period it was 5deg C warmer than today and run away global warming DID NOT HAPPEN. Come on WWF look at the past and stop talking alarmist rubbish that is only intended to increase your bottom line. If you started to look at ways to help the third world to attain a better lifestyle without any real harm to the rest of life then you will have done a good thing. Oh sorry that would not achieve the high sallery that your CEO craves would it!

Actually, the so-called runaway warming comes from the climate models. They get that by putting in a positive feedback loop interaction between CO2 and water vapor. They need that to get the answer they want. Never mind that it violates the laws of physics.

The climate models, as they currently exist, are incapable of making any meaningful projections into the distant future. That is a fact.

Quite clearly, these models have not properly identified all the key drivers and the mathematical inter-relationships do not yet properly enough describe the various physical phenomena. If these elements were correct, then the climate simulations would accurately replicate the past, including the last ten years. The models fail badly. Quite clearly, these models are not quite right by a fairly considerably margin.

To go into complete hysterics over possible distant global warming is just plain stupid. Concentrate on wise and efficient use of energy and the alleged "climate change catastrophe” will become a non-problem.

This just in from actual climate scientists……..

We can reduce global CO2 levels by One Trillion tons.

It will take thirty years, but we can do it.

All we need to do is stop burning any carbon based fuel at all, worldwide. That means, no fires in the caves or hovels we live in, for the next thirty years.

All we need to do is go back to the stone age, 'before' mankind discovered fire.

And guess what, If we completely revert to stone aged life for those thirty years, we can actually reduce global temperatures.

We can actually reduce global temperatures by, one degree Fahrenheit.

Yep. A whole one degree F, if we stop any & all fire on the entire planet. What a deal, huh?!
