Why Is Al Gore So Worked up?

A blustery “bullshitting” Al Gore clip is wending its way through the Internet. On August 4, he was speaking at the Aspen Institute FOCAS seminar in Colorado. The minute plus clip is the most interesting part of an hour-and-half long snooze fest—though he does perk it up when he talks about how climate change has fallen from the front burner of the public psyche. He uses several different fecal terms to describe the various valid theories regarding climate change.

Could the rant be the result of science questioning his profitable propaganda?

Al Gore has had his hand in the eco-till for decades. In 1994, as vice president, he cast the tie-breaking vote that made ethanol the mandatory gasoline additive—replacing petroleum based MTBE. He cofounded the now-defunct Chicago Climate Exchange with President Obama. At its peak in June of 2008, back when it was expected cap and trade would pass any day, carbon was trading at $7.40 a ton. Just a few months earlier between his election and inauguration, President Obama met with Al Gore in Chicago to discuss global warming and energy policy. As a result of that meeting, the President-elect said, “We all believe what the scientists have been telling us for years now, that this is a matter of urgency and national security, and it has to be dealt with in a serious way. That is what I intend my administration to do.” They did try, but cap and trade did not pass and the Chicago Climate Exchange folded when the price of carbon dropped to nothing. With it went Al Gore’s plans of profiting from his propaganda. But that has not stopped the Obama administration from pursuing the policies that promote that, which isn’t economically viable while punishing what works.

Between the high and low prices of carbon, came climategate and a variety of other news items that have since sunk the scientific validity of manmade global warming and public concern over his pseudoscience—including Gore’s own admission that his support of ethanol was more politics than science. Even the environmentalists, admitting defeat on the issue, have moved to a defensive position.

Apparently, Al Gore doesn’t like being marginalized. With no real science to back him up, he’s resorted to expletives.

When will real environmentalists wake up and realize that they’ve been used to spread fear to promote a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist, but that was designed to make an elite few very rich? Whatever happened to simple bird watching?

I consider it a cosmic irony that “greens” have been deluded into fear of the very molecule which , thru photosynthesis , is the building block of the life they claim to revere .

Commenter “Matt” exemplifies the best the environmentalist movement can offer on such commentaries. Ironic that so many on the Al Gore / IPCC side claim skeptics have no proof to support their skepticism, because those making that accusation never seem to be able to back up what they say.

Meanwhile, guys like me point out that Al Gore can’t even keep his own accusation narrative against skeptic scientists straight, using seemingly endless proof. See: “Pt II: Is Gore’s Accusation of Skeptic Climate Scientists Still a Hoax?” http://www.redstate.com/russellc/2011/06/22/pt-ii-is-gores-accusation-of-skeptic-climate-scientists-still-a-hoax/

Now…. wait for it…… Matt will probably chime in and call me an idiot, except he may now add Al Gore-style profanity….

Gore isn’t mad because his so-called “profitable propaganda” (another denier canard) is being threated by half-wit Creationist liars. He’s mad because half-wit Creationist liars are disrespecting the very future of the Earth for their own short-term profits, or a mindless ideology that despises all environmental regulations.

To put it another way, Gore is annoyed in the same way anyone would be if they saw their only home being trashed, and the trashers refused to stop or accept any evidence of the trashing. That’s literally what’s going on, but the “trash” is invisible greenhouse gases. If CO2 had a dye-tracer the problem would be a lot more evident to laymen.

The vast majority of scientists actually studying the climate agree that man-made GHGs are a serious problem. AGW contrarians are NOT operating on any sort of honest, scientific level, though they insist falsely that they are (round and round goes their deception). The frustration in dealing with such crummy, devious people is palpable. Gore is just reacting naturally to it.

Frauds never like to be exposed, and someone like Gore is probably a stranger to admitting to have just been in it for the money all along. Follow te money – it always works.

Marita Noon is right on. To the environmental wackos learn the truth, the greenhouse gas effect is a hoax and Mann-made global warming is a political lye.
When major university physics departments are afraid to tell the truth that the “greenhouse gas effect” has never been proven with experimental data We are in trouble.

After 1909 when R.W.Wood proved that the understanding of the greenhouse effect was in error and the ghg effect does not exist. After Niels Bohr published his work and receive a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. The fantasy of the greenhouse gas effect should have died in 1909 and 1922. Since then it has been shown by several physicists that the concept is a Violation of the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
